Low Odor Paint

In the past, I've used SW Harmony paint, and liked it, because of the low odor. Paint smell makes me dizzy. Has anyone had experience with another low odor brand?
Thank you!

Try the Behr Ultra thread to see views on other brands. Lots of entertaining opinions on a range of paints, so you'll need to read to the bottom of a very long discussion, lol. However, Ultra is the NEW low VOC, low odor, soap and water clean up paint from Behr (Home Depot), just came out last spring. They have 8 oz sample bottles if you want to try it or maybe they'll let you sniff it in the store ;-)

I believe Ralph Lauren and BM Aura are also low odor.

BM also has a line called "ben" that I recently used in my son's room. It is low VOC but it still smells - kind of sour, not so much like paint. The smell dissipates reasonably quickly, as far as I recall.

You can get scent packets to mix into the paint if you are sensitive to just the smell.

Almost all( if not all) paint brands make low odor paint.

Benjamin Moore Natura has a herbally smell that disappears quickly. Definitely didn't smell like the usual latex.

We're in the process of painting our house and using Benjamin Moore. Sometimes I get a slight whiff of a smell but most of the time don't notice any smell at all. Paint smell never really bothered me and in a way I miss the smell :-) It doesn't seem right painting all day and the house not smelling like paint, lol!

All the Farrow & Ball paints I have used have very little odor and are low VOC. Estate emulsion, estate eggshell...

Try Mythic paints. They claim to have zero toxins & zero voc. I think I'm going to try it in my bedroom.
Paint contractor websites seem to love it. IMO that says alot.
I tried aura as well. A little smell but not bad. But aura does'nt claim to have no toxins.

Farrow and Ball for sure.

And BTW, Ben Moore is not low odor by any means - UNLESS you use BM Natura about which I've read lots but not experienced it myself. The original BM stuff though, whew! it gives me a ripping headache. FarrowBall does not. I barely smell anything of it when I've used it. Not going back to the BM-original stuff ever again!

Have to add that Farrow & Ball's Modern Emulsion stinks to hi-heaven. It is strong and can over power a large house in a matter o'seconds.

HOWEVER, it clears very quickly. With good ventilation by the time it is thoroughly dry the stink is gone.

For no odor, low VOC I like ICI's LifeMaster in eggshell. Pretty much use Aura and LifeMaster if I have 100% say in the matter.

Aura does have an odor. I call it a fragrance because I think it smells crisp and clean and you still get the freshly painted smell albeit a different kind of smell. Aura clears quickly too...
