Hello everyone. We bought a new house and they just put the dry-wall on. We picked white siding, with white trim, and gray shutters. I think there's too much white. There's no contrast and the house just looks plain. I'm trying to get the builder to paint the trim with a different color. What color is recommended with white siding, and gray shutters, and gray roof? Thank you!

Can you paint the front door? If you paint the front door a strong, bold color you're not going to feel the monotony that's happening due to same body/trim color and achromatic shutter -- It's actually a classic color strategy. If you think of it in terms of make up you do a strong, bold lip but go very subtle on the eye make up. Or the reverse, if you go bold on the eyes, you go with a nude or pale lip. Architectural exterior strategies work in a similar manner.

Thank you! What color do you recommend? bold red or green? The only thing is we have HOA and I hope they would be fine with that.
