| We have planned to paint a fir board ceiling in our kitchen renovation, with a grid of "straps" applied to the board ceiling. The board ceiling is up, and it is so pretty I hate to paint it. I know that fir will darken, though, and since the base cabinets are also fir, and the floor is natural cork, I can imagine that things might get pretty woody/dark in there. Lots of monorail lighting in the room though.
Here's my question: can anyone recommend a translucent glaze that would lighten the ceiling while preserving the texture and interest of the strapped board ceiling? I'll post this question on the decorating forum, too. Thanks,
