To put oil over latex painted cabs....what has to be done?

My cabinets were stupidly painted with BM satin impervo water based and I hate it. I wanted oil based, but the contractor screwed up. Since the paint was also done poorly, they all need refinishing (part of litigation soon coming to a head), I want the oil-based I originally asked for.

But I've gotten conflicting info from cabinet makers/refinishers about whether that's a wise idea and what to do to prepare the surface.

Anyone got a definitive answer? Any experience with going from latex to oil rather than vice versa? Thanks

Sand them, clean, prime with a QUALITY bonding primer, paint, no problem
