| I purchased a pine two drawer coffee table at a garage sale on Sat. for $1.00. It is a honey colored table but the top and the legs are in a very scratched condition. Should I remove all the finish and restain using Polyshades miniwax after I sand the top? Is removing the finish all over an awful job that will take forever? Should I maybe just refinish the top and paint the bottom.
All the wood furniture in the den is dark so I what do you suggest is a good color to stain the coffee table that is not black but yet dark. Is poly shades the best stain for this purpose? You can see I have never done this before and any advice would be appreciated. |

| You might want to do some reading on the Woodworking forum and see what they are recommending to people who are refinishing. IMO, removing finish is a lot of work. Minwax Polyshades can be put on a surface without first removing the existing finish. But lots of people on GardenWeb don't like it. |
