Can HD/Lowes match a paint by name or do I need to bring in a chip?

Most ,if not all, paint stores have the formulas for other paint brands.
The chip(although not required) would help to compare it to after they mix it for you.

I am going thru this now with Glidden, which I don't like, but the contractor uses, and will take sample of Sherwin williams to them

When you get to where ever they are mixing the paint for you ask them to copy using the Sherwin formula ....
Then if you want you can compare by asking them to color match on the machine..
When you go back with the end product you like make sure the follow the same formula..

BUT everything aside... I don't care for Glidden at all .
If the contractor will only use the paint he likes I guess there's a reason in his mind..

Buy the paint yourself and hire a painter...

OOPS forgot to mention that I am a total DIYer.No pro here.

painterguy1....They can give great advise for you.

Start a new thread asking weather it's reasonable for the contractor to require that you only use Glidden ?
