| I'm painting my kitchen island (4 feet x 2 feet) from black to white. I cleaned, sanded, think I did all the "right" preparation.
I used Zinsser 123 Bullseye Plus primer, applied with a 2" brush. I even put a little Floetrol in it and the brush strokes are VERY visible. Is this normal with priming? (please say yes!). Should I have used a larger brush since the one side of my island is 4 feet wide x 3 feet high? I was planning to sand lightly, then paint with BM White Dove (2 coats) with a brush to avoid the stipple of the roller. But now I'll take the stipple marks any day over the brushmarks. Will the paint cover the brushmarks from the primer? Should I use a roller for the paint instead of a brush? Any specific type of BM paint I should use? Thanks! |

| normal, no larger brush, yes 3/8 in roller cover would work better you will need to let it dry for a couple days and sand it smooth to get it ready for paint really no need to prime after all that sanding |

| Thanks! I used a roller and it looks much better (actually did a second coat of primer-probably overkill but it seems to have evened it out). Will paint this weekend. Right now it just looks like a big rectangular piece of drywall-even though it is wood. I'll have to add some molding to make it more warm.
