Lime Plaster, how to tint?

Has anyone used lime plaster as a wall finish? I have seen pictures, and it is stunning. There is a place by me that sells the lime plaster in a 50lb bag, but I have no idea what to tint it with. I found some sources saying any universal tint would work, but where can I buy universal tint in a pint or quart size container? Fyi, I spent several years of my life finishing drywall for a living, so I am familiar with plaster work.

Go to virginia lime works website, it's eye-opening. They will give you good advice.
IMO a finish coat with very fine sand in it plus color is better than a plain lime & gauging whitecoat with color.
