Help! Satin finish showing the imperfections more than I thought

My first coat of Sherwin Williams Super Paint Satin finish went on the outside (exterior) today. It was not in my budget to sand down the house to make the wood smooth and even thus there are areas where layers of paint peeled off in the past. Anyway, this is really showing up with the satin finish. Will it dull down after the paint cures? Should I request flat for my second coat of will that just show the problem spots as well?

The bad spots are not going away and IMO flat should never be used on an exterior. Many will argue that, it is a personal and professional opinion.

Agreeing COMPLETELY w/ Cn here!!

* The sanding for these kind of situations should've been done b4...bottom line.
* Nothing will minimize those edges.
* Flat would only help a miniscule amount at best.
* You'll just have to bear with the present "edge-lines".
* Satin will keep your home cleaner. It doesn't hold dirt like a Flat tends to.
* You couldn't pay me enough to use a Flat outside...
