Aluminum Door

My aluminum door is facing south. The paint has cracked and I need to refinish it. When I read instructions on Fine Paints of Europe it says that a kind of primer used on steel door should not be used on aluminum surface. I don't recall seeing similar instructions anywhere else. About 15 years ago when I painted the door, I used outdoor primer and it seemed fine during this time. I had no idea there was something else. Would Fine Paints of Europe, oil based paints be suitable for my kind of door. Is there anybody else making paints that are long lasting and can withstand all kinds of weather and sun from morning till sunset?

The most important consideration in painting aluminium doors is having with proper preparation. Aluminium surfaces are easily spoil with fingerprints, oils and other types of dirt. The aluminium must be properly before painted. Painting aluminium surface needs a extra preparation.
