Can you mix flat and eggshell

That's my question - can you mix two different sheens.

I tried it once and the sheen was uneven - shinier in some places - so I'm thinking I could mix them in a can and have the paint store shake it up. But is there any reason I should nt do it? Im assuming chemically they are the same except for the stuff added to make the paint flat. But maybe that's not true?

You can do it and it works fine. Mix them good mechanically or with a power mixer. Make sure you mix enough though. Also you should use the same brand
