Hi we plan on putting WRC shingles. House is in a costal NE location. Not too exposed to sun though.

Would be interested in how people are finishing their shingles to preserve color and even out/prevent weathering.

Architect specified pre staining with Cabot bleaching oil followed by 2 coats of site applied semi transparent stain of our liking. Said this will retain color (assuming we restain every 3-5 years) and ensure more even weathering, prevent mildew etc.

What finishes are people using in similar locations? Any regrets/watch outs?
