Yes, but after a month it should be cured. I would question the BM dealer about it and see what they might say.

I'm not even sure you can call it tacky at this point. It just doesn't feel smooth - it's as if every particle of dust is going to cling to it.

Something is definitely wrong. I'd be really upset after all that effort, not to mention expense.

What was the weather like when you painted? Was it dry or really humid? Was the first coat tacky when you did the second coat?

I agree with Christopher that you should contain your BM dealer. I'd also call BM support and see what they have to say,

I've been at this all summer and don't remember what the weather was like. It's Virginia in the summer. I would not have painted on an extremely humid day for my own comfort, or I would have done the painting inside with air conditioning. I always follow the instructions on the can and then some with regard to wait times. I don't remember what they felt like between coats.

I have a small bench that I am going to use this paint on. The shutters won't get any wear once they are up. It will be interesting to see how the bench holds up.
