Please help me choose kitchen paint color!

Hi everyone- We recently bought a house built in the 1920s. We have all the rooms painted except for the kitchen. There are hardwood floors throughout the house and we are generally using cool, light colors. Benjamin moore monterey white in living room, wickham gray in dining room. Cloud white for trim across whole house.

The kitchen had old linoleum floors which we had removed and had hardwood floors installed. They are oak floors stained to a natural color. There are dark cherry wood cabinets (original from the 1920s) and currently a light blue formica counter. Eventually we will remove the counter and replace with granite but we are looking for a neutral paint color that will will match for now, since we don't know when we will be able to afford to redo the counters.

We have sampled a bunch of colors. We initially tried standish white, but it was way too creamy and made kitchen look too 70s. Then we were thinking gray, or gray/beige, and are currently thinking of Edgecomb Gray.

Any thoughts on Edgecomb gray or other color ideas in the off-white, gray, neutral zone for this kitchen?

Thanks so much! Our painter is waiting on us to choose!
