In each but one of the bedrooms, we noticed one screw showing through the ceiling. Often it is within a foot or so from the vent. It's a screw not a nail because we can see the indent on the head for the screwdriver. Are these just random? Or is there a reason for these screws to be showing?

If they need to be repaired isn't the proper way to take out the screw and insert a new one in a slightly different place? I had a painter come in to give an estimate and he said they usually just hammer them back in and put a little spackle. Although in the case of ours, it would need to be screwed back in a little tighter. I thought I had read that the nails only pop back out again. Not sure about the screws.

The painter had only been on the job 2 months and was the sales guy/franchisee owner so we are a little worried about giving him the business.
