Hope this hasn't been covered too many times before. I couldn't find any advice anywhere. I have a deck that needs some work on it. It is treated wood which we stained for quite a few years. I got tired of the dark color so decided I would paint it white and so I used latex paint Well, it looked fine for quite awhile but now it is looking pretty neglected. My son says you cannot paint treated lumber but I'm wondeering if I couldn't use oil based paint this time and I'd like to put outdoor carpeting on the floor of the deck. Does anyone know if the oil based paint will adhere to the treated lumber or, please do not tell me I have to replace the deck, any other suggestions would be soooo appreciated. thanks in advice on anything you can give me.
