| Hi All,
We just had wood stairs put in and I had the guy paint them with black deck and porch paint. They are very low sheen and show everything. I hate them as is. What should we put over the paint to bring them some shine and hopefully reduce the dirt and prints that are showing up everywhere? The paint is water-based. Thanks for any help! |

| You could paint over with a gloss floor paint. |

| How many coats did "the guy" put on? A water based porch & deck put over bare wood would lose it's intended sheen because of something called "hold out", a problem having to do with porosity and usually fixed with primer. The sheen should be at least a satin and I recommend 3 coats, inside or out. |
