Power roller good idea for a DIYer?

I'll be staining my house's exterior; a power roller sounds like a good idea.

I'm not sure if it would be worth it, though, since I have to stop pretty frequently to back brush (right?).

Maybe I just answered my own question, but I'd like some input from someone with experience. TIA.

I briefly considered a sprayer, but I'd probably end up staining the neighbors too!

The problem with the power roller has always been that you need to wait for the paint to arrive through the holes in the sleeve before you can roll it. This means you can only roll very slowly. It may be okay for a DIY'er because they roll slow anyway though. As for the backbrushing, it depends on what kind of wood it is and what kind of look you are going for (stipple or brushmarks). If it's rough wood, it's certainly fine to just roll it and leave it be.
