Dover White vs Alabaster ~ Sherwin Williams

Posted by creecew (My Page) on

We just moved in a new house and wondering if anyone has used these colors for their trim and kitchen cabinets? I can't decide....leaning a little towards the dover white.

There is a lot of big trees that surround our house so not a lot of sunlight gets in. If anyone has pics I would love to see them!

Thanks for your help!

Colleen

From what I have seen on the web most people go with dover white. It is hard to find a picture of alabaster, I've attached a link of dover white cabinets below. Google alabaster white cabinets and you will get some hits, but not very many (most aren't actually of that paint color) and the picture quality isn't very good on most of them.

Here is a link that might be useful: Pics of dover white in kitchens

If there's not a lot of sunlight, maybe Dover White would be the best choice as it has more of a yellow hue.

Alabaster is also beautiful, but I think it would work best in a bright setting.

You can get sample quarts at SW for about $6. Try a sample jar of each painted on foam board and put it up in your kitchen for a few days. See what you think.
