Thank you for the helpful picture! I often use a 2" brush just because the handles are so thick on the 3" brushes, and I fear hand fatigue, like randita. But I don't hold it as shown in your picture. Hmmm, could be the problem.

BTW, do you have any tips for painting cold air returns? I like to paint them with the same paint I'm using for the walls, but man, is it tedious to paint all those little veins.

There is an aerosol jar (Preval) that will spray the latex paint you are using. That is what I always used for those grilles when the customer wanted the color to match the wall.
