I can help I just did this! First if you have any knots bleeding through the oil seal them with oil based B.I.N. then give everything a coat of a product called "STIX" I got mine from my Benjamin Moore dealer. Next I lightly sanded the STIX. Then I used BM Aura satin finish 2 coats. It was a long process for me I had a lot of wood to prep, which I thought was the hardest part. Finished product, smooth as glass!

Don't forget to sand before applying the primer. Use 3M medium grit sanding sponges with medium pressure and you just need to do a couple passes to dull the sheen of the oil based paint. You can use deglosser and you can skip the sanding and apply one of these primers that are designed to stick to surfaces that you didn't sand, but that's not the best way. Right,sand the oil paint. I did do that too. But before I sanded I washed everything with dirtex.
