Primer recommendation for interior wood doors

I have stripped interior wood doors and wish to paint them.
I know that oil based primer is best for wood. I live in California so oil based primers are a bit harder to come by.

I have 1 quart left of Fresh Start Oil Based Primer purchase a year ago. Not enough to do 5 doors and there is no more at the store.

I have an additional quart of 5 yr old BM exterior alkyd penetrating primer. And about a quart left of Pratt and Lambert Exterior oil primer (about 7 years old).

Does oil primer have expiration issues?

Is there some other product out there I should consider?

Anything else you would recommend to do to the doors to get the best adhesion possible?

Thanks so much.
