| Just bought a house the woodwork in the master bath is faded an dull the stain needs to be redone or something.
Should I stain this again an maybe put a clear gloss of some type over it to help protect from the steamy water from the shower OR use a good high gloss paint an paint the woodwork (trim) I will be painting the trim in kitchen as it's already painted an needs it again an could use the same color in kitchen an bath. |

| Sounds like someone may have used stain and only stain. Consider stain with a top coat of poly or varnish to protect it AFTER testing for porosity [drops of water, do they soak in?]. |

| I would stain again and put a sealer on top. |
