Question for professional painter new house interior

Hello Im hoping I can get some answers here ok we are building a new house etc.. so sheetrock completed I picked my 4 colors we are to use an eggshell not flat except ceilings(I thought painter knew that guess not!) anyways Im using Sherwin Williams but color match to Benjamin Moore colors, so yesterday he calls me and I said ok u did use eggshell correct he said ughh no used flat I said well call builder (custom build) its in our contract to use eggshell etc.. He called back your right so now he tells me they will have to get sheet rock people in there to reblast walls and use a different primer? I said well that cost is on builder he said correct so my question do u have to use a different primer for an eggshell finish? If so why would he tell me use same primer in my colors because I want to use a different shade in masterbath he jst said different primer so wouldn't that mean a different primer in the original colors I chose? Hope this makes sense

Reblast the walls? If the sheetrock was prepped/primed for the flat coats then the new eggshell coats should go right over the fresh flat coats - no problem at all. In a way, all the 'hard' work has been done and they just need to repaint minus the heavy duty prep. More time and work, yes, but not a huge deal at this point.

It's like when people get this far in the process and don't like the color they chose. All the prep has been done and it's just a color change. In your case, it's just a sheen change from flat to egg. No biggie.

I don't know either what wall blasting is or re blasting but it could be that the drywall just wasn't good enough for the eggshell finish so maybe they want to get the drywallers back to sharpen up the walls.....isn't normal and drywall should be good no matter what sheen is being applied, but still this could be a possibility. Also, if the job was flat, it could be there was no primer used at all (they just painted with two coats of flat). So, now that there is an eggshell finish involved, a primer is needed.
