Pressure treated lumber on trailer

DH just replaced the rotted wood deck of his car hauler trailer with pressure treated lumber. The original wood looks like it was stained. The grain shows through so I'm supposing it was a semi transparent stain. What would you recommend we use on the wood, semi-transparent or solid? Approximately how long should we wait to do it. I've read that the main thing is for the wood to be dry, is this correct?
