Protective Finish for Bathroom Vanity

I'm planning on converting this dresser to a bathroom vanity. What kind of finish (wax, varathane, etc.) should I put on it to protect it from water? Thanks.

There are probably a few ways you could go, but I think I'd use Spar-urethane, or something else intended to hold up outdoors in the elements.

Here is a link that might be useful: Helmsman Spar Urethane

I would use Benjamin Moore StaysClear or some Minwax poly. We try to stay away from using exterior products inside.

Actually, the Helmsman products are labeled "indoor/outdoor", so they shouldn't have the fumes/VOC issues of strictly outdoor products.
