| I tested a table I'll be painting. The denatured alcohol easily removed the two top layers of paint when I rubbed with a cloth. The third layer, and orange layer, does nothing and looks shiny and new when I rub with denatured alcohol.
So are the top two layers oil based paint and the bottom layer latex, or is it the opposite? I forget which is which. |

| Denatured alcohol will remove latex and shellac based paint but will do nothing to oil based paint. |
