Christoph, you are a man of few words, lol. Why Gardz, not the others? (I do plan to at least use the Peel Stop regular.)

Just personal preference. Gardz does what you want it to do and is less expensive. The other stuff does no better of a job and costs more.

So you don't think the build and leveling works much? While sanding these walls today, I'm thinking it might be a good idea to get rid of some of the sloppy paint jobs of the past and just even things out a bit. Between sanding and patching, there will be a lot of really smooth areas mixed in. Not a good effect. Maybe I need to build fresh stipple.

Skim out the rough spots , prime with the Gardz and your 2 finish coats with a 1/2 nap will make it all as good as it gets.

Sorry Christopher, lol, but why 1/2" nap? 3/8" seems to be standard around here. I know it holds more paint but doesn't it leave alot of texture or kind of orange peel effect?

Are you not trying to cover up stuff? I never use a 3/8 unless I am painting semi gloss on shelving or something like that. A 1/2 is pretty much standard with painters. Use the 3/8 if it make you feel more comfortable., but it will leave the same finish( pretty much) and will take more time and effort. Use it for the Gardz in a micro fiber for sure.

I'll try a test board to see the difference in applying and appearance. Everyone recommends 3/8 around here for some reason.
