Blue paint for Livingroom, Dining and kitchen

We are moving to a new home in June and previous owners have a gold/orange paint in Livingroom, Dining and kitchen. We want to paint a blue or blue/grey paint over it. The walls have texture. One reason we want blue is, most of our decor is fish and feel the blue will work well with them. Pics of living dining and kitchen below.

Any thoughts? Anyone have blue walls? Pics? What paint brands are best and offer one coat coverage and primer included? Flat, satin, or semi gloss?

Hhhmm, there a lot of different blues and some greens and golds in those pieces.

There is a thread about turquoise walls, there are some pretty blues in that thread.

I repainted my bedroom BM Tranquility, which I love, but I'm not sure how it would look with the oak woodwork.

At our cabin, which has woodwork similar to yours, I painted one bedroom in a color-matched Restoration Hardware color Seafoam and it good.
I have a Scandinavian type quilt in that room and matched the blue of the quilt - but even with that color the woodwork stands out.

I would try picking several of the fish that have the most blue and green in them. Put a white sheet down on your floor and cluster the fish, so that you can see most of them in a glance. Then go to the paint store and get a handful of blue, green, and whitish paint chips and just drop them in the middle of the fish. As you begin moving the chips around you will quickly pick out some contenders.

Try posting in the Home Decorating forum, you might get more feedback.

I find this paint forum better for asking the how to, what brand, and more mechanics of paint rather than dcorating/design.

We're doing SW quietude in the LR DR. It's a nice blue-grey.
