Hello all, I'm brand new here and despairing for advise.

We just bought a cute little house and we want to tackle the dining room first. The downstairs is very open and connects to the living room, kitchen and reading room.

The dining room has a large window and sliding door to the deck. The hardwoodfloor and wainscoting is a blonde wood, thats all i know. i assume its pine.

the walls right now are a hideous minty greenish mess. it just doesn't work. although I'm thinking olive, as in Grandma's Linen by Valspar.

I spend hours looking at pictures online, but didn't find anything that comes close to what we have. Our dining room set will be a dark dark brown.

Does anyone have a similar setting or have any ideas about a fitting wall color? Any ideas are highly appreciated.
