How do I paint an Ironing Board?

I have a metal ironing board from the 80's ,,, it's a glossy finish (cornflower blue) with a few rust spots, but overall in great shape. I'd like to spray paint it white. This will be my first metal paint job, so I need input regarding the proper steps (from start to finish), along with any product recommedations. Thanks!!

I spray paint all sorts of things. This is the kind of project that I would do without a lot of prep. Here's what I suggest, but I'm not an expert:

Get a can of spray paint suitable for metal. Lightly sand the metal with sandpaper, sanding more where the rust is, wipe off the grit, and then spray according to the directions on the can.

Use a rust-reformer primer.
