Unique Paint Techniques

I'm looking for ideas for paint. I would rather not do the regular paint on walls thing.

For instance I saw somewhere to paint your walls a color in flat and then do a pattern in the same color, but using high gloss.

If you have used a different technique I would love to hear about it and if you have pictures that would be great! Thanks

RE: Unique Paint Techniques

This ? is better suited to maybe a "Faux-painting" general internet search.
There are literally thousands of ways to "Go faux", and there are some specialty websites devoted to this. It's definitely not as popular as just a few years ago, but some Plasters are being used now that have a subtle sheen.
