I am going to have all interior doors changed. And I need to choose the paint for interior doors, door casing, and crown moulding. What sheen should I choose, semi gloss or gloss? Thank you very much.

Thank you very much, snookums and faron79. Faron79, did you mean that door: S/G. casing: S/G, crown moulding: satin? Thanks. |

Well...I s'pose you could do a different sheen on the crowns (may even look kinda cool!), but then you'd be buying the same color in 2 sheens! I was just being silly, with my preference for s/g in these cases! It's more durable for baseboards, etc. Faron

I think you can do the higher glosses underneath for durability and then your preference for sheen for the top coat?

Definitely semigloss. For years out of habit used gloss (maybe because our parents had) but then saw a beautiful house with semigloss and have never used anything else since.

Thank you very much for all your help. My contractor suggested gloss. I'll take your suggestion and go with semi gloss. I also think gloss is two shiny.

It can be kind of a regional thing too... Better homes out East use Gloss some of the time. Faron
