| Our paint dilemma:
It all started with a pretty crystal lamp on sale (piclink1)...It inspired my husband and I to re-do our master bedroom ... We've decided the feel that we want it a sexy/sultry yet relaxing, cool, modern look. The lampshade is a modern sheer silver. Soon after we found some neat wall art also in silver to attach over our sleigh bed. (piclink2) Then, yesterday we found a huge full length mirror also with a silver-ish frame (piclink3)... It was like the stars were aligning for us!! http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/546/lamp1h.jpg/
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/543/mirrorkzi.jpg/ We've decided that we will let the walls do the talking with color and let the bedspread be a simple silver/gray color with accent pillows and sheets that go with out wall paint color. Also, other pops of silver and our chosen color on table decorations, etc. We only have one little problems (i think?).... We have cherry wood furniture. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/52/catlamp.jpg/
Picking a cool color (purple, blue, silvery green etc) scares me with the warm red/caramel tones of that cherry wood. Plus we have a LOT of cherry wood in out bedroom (Sleigh bed, 2 dressers, night stand, etc) Can it be done or am I just being paranoid?? Has anyone else tried this?? Most silver and _(color)_ themed bedrooms with that cool modern look have either white or mirrored furniture like this http://mirroredfurnitures.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/mirrored-furn iture.jpg . What paint colors did you think I can use that work with cherry wood AND silver items? Regards

| Dark woods and silver both look great with blues. Are you willing to go midtone to deep blue? Candice Olson did a deep blue, dark wood and silver accents dining room that was GORGEOUS! This one is a lighter, somewhat aqua blue -- I'm still looking for the other deeper one This is not the room I was looking for, but the walls were a similar color to the navy here. You can see it goes with the dark wood and red tones in it as well as the silver chandelier. The finished room was amazing and I remember sparkles from silver and crystal accents. |
