I thick coat is next to impossible,ignore that guy.
2 coats is the way to do it properly.

I would only add that that the "thick coat" guy MIGHT have meant a normal full coat that wouldn't run. It's kinda hard to know what people really mean sometimes!

2 EVEN coats is the standard.
If the 1st IS too heavy, it'll never dry all the way thru, & could lead to wrinkling.

Thank you so much, Chris and Faron. I will ignore the contractor who will only do one thick coat. He also told me he would spray the door twice at the same time, instead of spraying the 2nd coat after the 1st coat was dry.
