Lacquer Tinting Formula

I'd like to color match some lacquer to a piece of furniture I have. I bought a clear lacquer and pigments. Is there a way to calculate (i.e. from a RGB value) how much pigment to add to a clear base?

I'm thinking of the color match scanner they have at home depot. How does that machine know which pigments and how much of them to add?

Sorry...not possible.

RGB is for VIDEO/Electronic color reproduction.

Paint color-scanning is based upon WHITE tintbases, and LIQUID colorants calibrated to each brands color-database/formula-library.

Your Lacquer obviously isn't white. More like a clear/amber.

You'll just have to mix your trial pigment-mixes on small/clear pieces of glass or vinyl, laid on top of your wood sample.
