I have successfully painted over grasscloth paper, and now would like to try strings wallpaper. Has anyone done this? what were the results??

I would sincerely rather tear out the sheetrock and start new...HONEST.

Depending on your expectation-level, I'd rather start clean!

I happen to believe there is a special place in hell for people who paint over wallpaper. But to answer your question, it would be the same process for strings wallpaper as other grasscloth wallpaper.

I did not want to say it but thanks for that!

As to that special place in hell, I'm 78 so by the time someone else wants to redo this, who knows, I may be in hell, although at the present I don't plan to go there.
The painting starts Monday!!

So the next owner gets to deal with the nightmare YOU are creating. That's real nice.

Be kind to the next owner...don't do it. I had to remove painted over wallpaper from our first house 10 years ago and I'm still scarred!
