Painting a limestone tile floor - limewashing?

I have a floor of limestone tiles that I'm interested in painting. The tiles are currently a yellow tone and I hope to get them more of a gray. The floor is heated underneath the tiles. The floor is in a spa room, so it will get wet from people stepping out of the hot tub.

I've become curious about limewash paint, as I assume it would adhere well to the porous tiles. Is it suitable for a floor? Will it get chalky? I assume it's ok for a wet floor, as lime wash is used on the exterior of homes, but I can't find any info to lead me one way or the other.

If lime wash is not the way to go, does anyone have any other ideas? Some kind of pigment wash?e
