I need advice on getting rid of wall magic paint

I would really like some advice on what color paint to choose for my living room. I have a split level home that has a very open floor plan. I painted my dining room / kitchen a sunset orange which I would like to keep, but am not opposed to changing either. I just want to get rid of the wall magic paint! It is very out dated. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, paint or otherwise.
