What is "hot mopping"?

I'm just surprised to see someone outside in winter in a t-shirt in Alaska. Since we're off topic, I've been watching a Canadian series on the history of hockey. Many great hockey players started on rinks just like the one in the picture.

liz-think Zamboni, the big machines which resuface the ice during hockey and ice skating shows. We make one out of a big push broom wrapped in a towel. I duct tape the hose down near the bristles and then we have a short towel which drags behind and smoothes out the water. I had our plumber hook up our boiler to the outside, so I can mix water from the hottest we have in the house to totally cold. So, we actually do have a "hot" mop.

marie, I think we are so accustomed to cool weather, although the "Mr. Cool" kid in the picture usually does wear appropriate gear. You just get so hot when you are working up a sweat.

What an ingenious device! I've heard the term used for a method of waterproofing a shower, but it was something quite different.
