Very cool! And as much as it seems to store, even if using a different configuration, it would be worth the expense especially in that area of the house.

I think I'll sic my kid on that. Who knows if he'll be able, but it would be a good project for him.

He can start with a set of smaller boxes to mount in the closet for books, and then move up to this.

I keep coming back to this thread and looking at that cabinet. I wonder whether you could sit it on rollers rather than suspending it from the side.

You probably need to stabilize it at the top somehow. And it will want to wiggle around as you slide it in and out.

So, top- and bottom-drawer slides would work. Or some sort of "guide" on the top (like, a pipe mounted under the cabinet above, and a screw eye or two on the top of the cabinet) might keep it rolling well.

And maybe fixed casters would minimize that, too

There *are* carts that are tall and skinny. I haven't seen them lately, though.
