Why don't you just freezer tape. That is what I used when I had a freezer. I have never heard of washi tape.

Have been using freezer tape for years. Just learned about Washi tape and thought it'd be a fun change from plain freezer tape, and a fun way to color-code frozen foods.

I'm not crafty, so I have to use these pretty, crafty things in practical ways :)

Probably not - most tapes do not have adhesive that will stay sticky in cold temperatures.

Try labelling a few things with the tape and with normal freezer tape or cheap tan masking tape (what I use).

See what happens.

I just use masking tape.
Since the OP wants color-coded... try different colored Sharpies!

Washi tape is really expensive compared to freezer tape.

How pretty do you need your freezer to be?

Like LuAnn, I use masking tape. Works great, cheap and does not fall off until you peel it off, and that's easy.
