Organizing the Home

A decluttering tale

The only access to my pantry (a small room) is through my kitchen, so most people never even caught a glimpse of it. This gave me all the excuse I needed to pack with stuff for years. When I finally faced the fact that I had to deal with it, I couldn't bring myself to take a "before" picture. It looked like the pantry of an insane woman. Well, maybe it is. LOL

The clean-out ended up being like a domestic archeological dig, hence the title of my blog entry:

Alisande! Congrats on your success.

I spotted this: " a green-bean frencher that hooks up to a power drill."

Once, years ago, I went on a press trip to Iowa sponsored by the Iowa Pork Council. One highlight was dinner at a pig farmer's home. He had just such a green-bean slicer (to make something that sounded "sly-bone-chi"--sliced beans. It cut the beans at a sharp angle. Way cool.
