Rubbermaid Fast Track - how much weight?

Posted by bbstx (My Page) on

I need a shelving system to go over the washer/dryer in my laundry closet which is in the kitchen. It is going to act as a pantry, also. I am considering the Rubbermaid Fast Track Garage System, because I want something heavy duty.

In addition to all of the things that will be stored on the shelves, I am going to put my microwave / convection oven on one shelf. It weighs appx. 44 lbs. According to the Rubbermaid site, a 4 foot track will hold 1750 lbs. I am skeptical.

Has anyone had any experience loading up a track storage system?

I have it but haven't loaded up to anywhere near 1750 pounds.

I would place a 44 pound item on a board to help distribute the weight and/or strattling one of the brackets.
