He's making ME look bad!

I was out all day at DD's gymnastics. While I was out, DH organized not only stuff, but the kids too! He had the oldest 2 take down the tree (yes, the Christmas tree, I'm that bad, don't worry, it's fake), pack up all the stuff. Then they organized the attic (he even threw out his trophies). Threw out 2 huge boxes of stuff (just occurred to me, might be stuff of mine hidden in the bottom- but I'm not gonna check!). Straightened it all up nice and neat, put away decorations and tree, still left a lot of space to move around.

I'm hanging my head in shame.

No, no, no! I mean, didn't I train him well? ;o)

I guess I have to step it up a notch now. In my defense, I have done DD's room (threw away/donated couple boxes there, too) and a couple kitchen cabinets in the last week, though.

Sometimes it's better if someone else can go in and do that stuff. You wouldn't be able to get rid of his trophies, would you? And if you asked, he probably wouldn't want to deal with it then (my DH wouldn't, anyways). If the mood hits, let him go with it. I know at our house, DH would not get rid of anything a few years ago. But now he is letting things go without a fight. You are teaching through example. Enjoy it - it's so much better if the whole family is with you on this!

I'm jealous too! My DH will help me with organizing & decluttering, but I'm the one that starts & asks him to help.

Boy are you lucky. I've asked my dh to take out 3 christmas boxes that have been sitting out on our front porch for 3 weeks. He passes them every day, at least 10 times a day (he works in our office in the garage). And they're still on the porch. They're not even an extra trip! If my back wasn't bad, I'd have done it 3 weeks ago.

It's actually proper that a student would someday exceed the master. And it's a sign that the master is phenomenally good. A mediocre master would only produce mediocre students. Just ask Yoda.

Hooray! Stuff out, that's great. And not your sweat to do it? Even better.
