Misplaced lid to slow cooker

| It is a rectangular pot that sits on a separate base and has a plastic lid (somewhere). Would foil work temporarily to use as a cover while cooking in it? Anyone else had this problem? All ideas appreciated. |

| Anything that gives a snug or tight seal. I lost one of mine and used to just sit a plate on top. |
