sour cream question

Can anyone tell me if you can put a container of sour cream in the freezer. I have overbought and know it will go bad before I use it. I guess I could just try, but just wondered if anyone had done this before.

I hate wasting food like this.

thanks for your input

never tried it but you can freeze milk so it may work. I have also heard of cakes you can make with sour cream that is starting to go bad so if it fales just bake with it.

jo i have always frozen sour cream in my freezer. i rarely use it so i buy a couple of containers and pop them in there for when i need it. just be sure to stir it up good once it has thawed. it seems to get a little watery when frozen.
