Freezing Carrots

Hi,I need to know if I can freeze some baby carrots without any cooking first.I bought some that came in three small packages and only used one for now can I put the other two in the freezer?Thanks,Debbie

Debbie, you can but it would be better if you blanched them first. Just put a pot of water on and bring it to a boil. dump the carrots in for a few minutes...I'm guesssing but I would say probably about three minutes, or four minutes. For whole carrots I think the recommended time is about 5 minutes, so if you want to be sure leave them for five minutes, drain, cool, and freeze.

Doing this will insure that the aging stops and there is no flavor change.
