Michael, probably to late to help you. But when I freeze pies, I freeze them baked. And I don't always reheat them in the oven. Especially if I only want a couple of slices. I just leave on the counter to defrost. I do the same thing with my Christmas Tourtieres. I make a couple of extra pies to freeze. I just reheat the number of slices I want, not the whole pie. Ann

That's it!!! Marigene. I KNEW there was something great to be done with leftover risotto. It's lunch time and I'm gonna just heat some slowly with seafood stock (no wine included Linda) but will remember the Arancini which I love but have never made. Now that I'm over my fear of the pc again (I seem to forget that it's ok if I don't use the little darlin' for about 6 months....) I'll have to make some risotto just for leftovers. LindyLuWho - Grandma would prepare beans similar to your way. She always added salt/smoked pork, onions, and potatoes when slow cooking them. They were delicious! Have you ever tired Leather Britches Beans (dehydrated, then cooked, green beans)? They are to die for. I love green beans any way I can get them - raw, steamed, boiled, grilled, roasted, broiled, microwaved, hot, cold, room temp, canned at home, canned from the store, frozen, or right from the bushes in the garden! Mixed with any and everything, or all on their own. When Mom was pregnant with me she craved green beans from the time she suspected she was pregnant until my birth. When she started feeding me soft foods, the first food she gave me was soft, mashed green beans. She says I went wild for them, gumming and drooling in a fit of joy. To this day I still cannot eat enough green beans. I can eat all I can hold; I can stuff more in...but I still want more. they are my favorite food.
