Cooking Chicken & Turkey

FINALLY had a chance to read the Sticky Chicken thread. Don't know about THAT recipe, but I ALWAYS cook my whole birds breast side down. In 20 years never had a problem with dried out yucky chicken or turkey. (Ok, so the first time was an accident, but now I recommend it!) Ruth, to answer your ? about cooking turkey in the crockpot. Clean it as you would to put in the oven. Season. Put in CP and go away. I don't put any liquid in with whole birds but do with pieces. If you cook your turkey in the CP do the stuffing seperately. Enjoy!

RE: Cooking Chicken & Turkey

I guess I am just having a hard time visualizing putting a turkey in my CP's. How large is your crockpot?
